The Bali Pass trek follows an ancient trade route between the Yamunotri Valley in Uttarakhand and the Har ki Doon Valley in the Garhwal Himalayas. This high-altitude mountain pass has been used by traders, shepherds, and pilgrims for centuries to cross between the two valleys across the Great Himalayan Range.
The trek to Brahmatal takes you through some remote areas of the Garhwal Himalayas. The starting point for the trek is usually the village of Lohajung, which sits at an elevation of around 2,100 meters (6,890 feet) above sea level. Lohajung can be reached by road from major towns and cities like Rishikesh, Haridwar, and Dehradun.
