The Brahmatal trek is considered moderately difficult by most trekkers. The total trek distance is around 22 km over the course of 2 days, with ascents and descents on uneven Himalayan terrain.

The highest point reached on the trek is Brahmatal Top, at an altitude of 12,100 feet above sea level. The rapid ascent to high altitude can be challenging for those not acclimatized. Trekkers need an average level of fitness to complete the trek without much difficulty.

The trail has some steep ascents and descents, which require trekking poles for balance and support. Sections of the trail are also prone to loose rocks and boulders, which can be tricky to navigate. The cold temperatures combined with strong winds at the summit make the final ascent demanding.

It is recommended that first-time trekkers or those new to high-altitude hiking have a moderate fitness routine for 2-3 weeks before the trek. Good cardio fitness, along with strength training for the core and legs, helps immensely. Staying hydrated and gaining altitude gradually can help mitigate altitude sickness on the trek.

The daytime temperatures during the summer can reach up to 25°C. This warmer weather means you’ll want to pack and wear lightweight, breathable clothing.
